Raw Vegetable and Fruit Smoothie

This is one of my favorite smoothies.  It is a beautiful dark pink color and it is delicious.  The raw spinach and beets are an excellent source of vitamins and fiber.  The blueberry and banana flavors dominate and make it seem like you are drinking a fruit smoothie. 

This smoothie can replace a meal or enjoyed for an afternoon snack.  The antioxidants provide a great burst of energy.

1 cup fresh spinach, packed down

½ cup frozen blueberries

¼ cup raw beets, grated

½ banana

1 tablespoon wheat germ

1 tablespoon ground flax seed

1 tablespoon protein powder

1 tablespoon honey

1 cup water or unsweetened fruit juice

Put all ingredients in a blender.  Blend until smooth and creamy.
